One thing that can be said about Sentosa is that activities are endless. Just take for example Imbiah Lookout. At this location you can select to take the thrilling Luge & Skyride or take it easy and go for the soothing walking trails or have close encounters with the 3,000 distinct species of insects at the Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom.

For a glimpse of Singapore Culture visit Images of Singapore. At night touch the multi-sensory Songs of the Sea.

To wind up the the day, hop onto the cable car or the Sentosa Express to VivoCity which is Singapore's largest waterfront shopping mall.

Yes, Sentosa Singapore is truly a popular resort for food, fun and beautiful attractions.

However, every year while the Lunar New Year duration you cannot miss something special-a million blooms at Sentosa in Singapore.

Sentosa Flowers 2009 is again as grand as ever with award winning floral displays. I know because I was there among the thousands of visitors.

They were displayed at the Imbiah guard location and for the first time we could enjoy the floral displays heading to the sandy beach of Palawan.

The displays had some themes to go with them. Let me give you three examples.

The first example was the "Land of Blue". Here the placard read: "Across the seas to the continent of America, a brave miniature girl from Texas tells her tale of sell out where she gave up her prized possession, a blue clad doll, to appease the gods so rain would fall. in effect the rain fell, bringing forth an azure field of flowers filled with Agapanthus, Amaryllis and more."

Another placard read: "At the land of Pink, look for a sweet Japanese girl seated next to a tree, where you'll also find a feast of Japanese spring flowers such as the Daphne Odorata, Primrose Jasmine, Peony, and of policy a favourite of the Japanese, Cherry Blossoms. Daphne Odorata was named after a Greek Goddess, Daphne. This is a plant which is favoured both for its clusters of fragrant rose purple flowers, which appear in Spring."

A final example was the "Orchid Treasures" placard. It read: "Be amazed by the variety of species and cultivars of Singapore's national flower, specially flown in from Taiwan."

There was even a section on school gardening and sculpture display competition.

Under the starry nights we were captivated by the sensation of lit-up flowers.

We fully enjoyed the Sentosa Flowers 2009 floral displays and we look forward to next year's display. Won't you join me next year?

In the meantime, I would like to share with you my joy over here where I have put a slideshow with nearly 100 photos http://directoryofsingapore.com/blog/sentosa/sentosa-flowers-2009
