Japanese Dating Rules - What You Need To Know Before Dating A Japanese

Why are there Japanese dating rules and what are them? Why there should be dating rules at all? It is a date and a date is supposed to be fun, isn't it? Well, Japanese women are ordinarily shy in nature. Movie goers can at once discontinue that because when Japanese ladies are featured in films, their roles almost always require them to use their fans and handkerchiefs to cover their faces when they laugh or smile. If you are curious in a Japanese girl then, you must understand first that there are dating rules that you must bond to.

The Japanese population are very cautious of the way they dress up. Therefore the first rule in Japanese dating rules concerns how you dress up for the occasion. If you are going to date a Japanese, avoid wearing clothes that are too tight that will show the form of your body. Best leave those parts for imagination huh? To put it simply, wear casual clothes that are presentable. Don't wear fitted jeans, too. It's not part of the Japanese culture to show as much skin as possible.

During conversations, be attentive always. Let your date feel that you are curious in her, that your eyes and ears are all for her. She can be spicy in telling stories about her work and the things she takes pride in; encourage her to tell more about herself without interrupting her. You will have your turn after she's done. A good conversation starts and ends with two good ears and one cautious mouth.

You can ask many questions to know more about your Japanese date. Your questions must focus on the things she loves to do especially on weekends. Do not forget to ask about the job she has and how she spends her time. Ask her if she has any singular hobbies or activities that keep her busy when she is not at work. Maybe you can join her sometime - that would be absolutely great, for sure.

You must be open-minded when she is showing off her luxuries in life, although, really, you cannot expect Japanese women to brag about things like this. This might be true for Japanese men, but even then this isn't called bragging, but naturally a factual declaration. Many Japanese are self-supporting since they realized that they can isolate from their families and stand on their own. This independence is a very nice thing.

First dates in Japan normally occur in classy restaurants. More dates later can bring you to other places like malls, parks and lounges. A Japanese man will feel respected when you don't hesitate to share the bill with him which, he will probably not accept so he will pay the whole bill. at once thank him as gratefulness is always valued in Japanese culture. You must walk away from the cashier to let him take care of the bill and you must prettily wait for him outside the dining place to show patience and dignity.

These are but basic rules when dating a Japanese, man or woman. You won't be too frank for a goodbye kiss because they will not be kissed unless you are in relationship. Today, however, many young Japanese are bold as they are influenced by the media. Needless to say, some of these Japanese dating rules still stand to this day.

Japanese Women: finding for a Western Husband!

A growing estimate of Japanese women are giving up on their male counterparts, and taking a gamble that finding abroad for love will bring them the qualities in a partner that seem rare at home.

Mr. Right, as the hope goes, is often an American or European, a man appreciative of a wife's career and more of a partner in daily tasks.

Japanese School Girls

"They treat you like equals, and they don't hesitate to express mutual feelings of respect - I think Western men are more adept [at such things] than Japanese men," says the 36-year-old Ms. Mizuguchi, who works at a top trading firm. "They don't act like women are maids - I think they view women as individuals."

Underscoring that Japanese women are losing hope with the local boys, dating agencies to help snag a Western husband have sprung up in Tokyo, some with branches in the Us and Europe. Such companies rigorously vet their clients, screening for education, family background, occupation, and life goals.

The kind of women who sign up for such services include doctors, lawyers, and other professionals - women who have delayed marriage to combine on careers and who aren't keen to give up hard won gains to become a housewife, as many Japanese men expect.

Japanese women have come to consider customary marriage roles as "disadvantageous in terms of time resources - they have to carry the burden of domestic chores as well as lose their free time," says Chizuko Ueno, a professor of sociology at Tokyo University.

Normally, married Japanese women have not only to look after their own parents during old age, but also to care for their parents-in-law.

When it comes to raising kids, "they can't expect much cooperation from their partner" because of the long work hours required at many Japanese corporations and because of established gender roles that assume that the woman does the child-rearing, Ms. Ueno adds.

A generation of women who are now entering their 30s don't want to give up single life unless prospective partners are willing to break from customary gender roles.

Government polls conducted to find out why women have put off marriage until well after 25 years of age - known as a woman's " 'best before' date" - show that economic independence is key to the change.

As most Japanese women have their own income, marriage is no longer a financial necessity and women want to find companionship in a husband.

That is where Japanese men have come up short. There is "a wide gap in men's and women's attitudes and expectations toward marriage" vis-à-vis customary gender roles, says Sumiko Iwao, professor of communal psychology at Musashi organize of Technology in Yokohama. For instance, coming home later than your Japanese husband is a no-no.

Having ruled out an old-fashioned Japanese husband, many women here think the clarification is a Western man. Indeed, some seem so enthralled with the idea that they are willing to spend thousands of dollars to inspect the wares personally.

Of the more than 2,000 women on the books at one large matchmaking agency, about 200 voyage to the Us or Europe each month to meet prospects.

Sentimental projections have recently been extended to Korean men also, due to romantic Korean soap operas.
In 2003, Japanese women marrying American or British men outnumbered Japanese men marrying American or British women by 8 to 1.

The total proportion of Japanese marrying foreigners each year has crept up from around 3.5 percent in 1995 to just over 5 percent.

Japanese men are as a matter of fact more than three times as likely as the women to take a foreign spouse, but this is mostly rural men marrying less well-off Chinese and Filipino women. "Such cases are elderly farmers not beloved among young Japanese women," says Yuriko Hashimoto, a local government worker in the remote northern prefecture of Iwate.

To be fair, not all the blame for female angst here can be laid on Japanese men. The government has been slow to enforce equal opportunity laws, and both pay and the glass ceiling in most Japanese corporations remain low for women.

Recession has hampered longer maternity leave and other family-friendly policies.

As Japan's fertility rate drops to new lows - at last count it was 1.29, well below levels required for citizen transfer - the ruling Liberal Democratic Party is anxiously drawing up plans to make it easier for young couples to raise children, through such measures as the provision of cheap communal housing.

The girls were screaming so hard, we really thought that the police would come because of the noise and also there was a lot of people aiming to see the magic. The screams were that strong that even saturated the sound of the lavalier microphone, so we had to made the edition and mix it with the camera sound because the camera was farther. Japanese Valentine's Day - An tantalizing Cultural Twist

Exchanging Valentine's Day gifts is very popular in the Western world, but it is also very popular in East Asia. In Japan, Korea, and China (especially Taiwan and Hong Kong) population also celebrate Valentine's day without any religious connotations, and it is quite an leading day for lovers. However, there is a assuredly arresting cultural twist in their Valentine's Day traditions. In this article, I talk only about the Japanese Valentine's Day, but similar twists can be observed in other countries, too.

In Japan, celebrating Valentine's Day originally started among high school girls in 1970's, although there were some failed attempts on the part of Japanese chocolate-makers to introduce the holiday before then. The high school girls decided they would give chocolates to boys whom they adored. At the time, this was quite innovative, and a bold move among Japanese girls when there were still many women following the more old-fashioned "arrangement" path to marriage. As the high school girls grew up, this Valentine's Day "tradition" was gradually expanded, and by the late 70's, it was the major event of the year for women of all ages. This was the day that a woman could send chocolates as a token of love to a man. Even among married couples, the wife would give chocolate to her husband. Eventually, women started sending chocolates to male friends and even to their bosses as expression of thanks.

Japanese School Girls

As the Valentine's Day gift-giving became more popular in Japan, every man was hoping to get at least one chocolate gift on Valentine's Day -- but of policy it wouldn't always happen. Some men got 20 gifts, and others got none. Valentine's Day turned into a charm contest for the men in which the women voted who was most "attractive." However, this created major problems in the close-knit Japanese society. If one male laborer got 20 chocolate gifts from women in the office, but other men got none, this would create a major strain in the workplace. How could the ladies solve this dilemma? They invented a chocolate named "obligatory" chocolate ("Giri-choco" in Japanese). This chocolate had the word "obligation" printed on the outside of the chocolate, but from the outside, the wrapper looked the same. The office ladies would all chip in the cash to buy these chocolates and send them to the less popular men in the office so that, at least on the surface, these men wouldn't have to lose face.

Another cultural twist is "White Day." It falls on March 14th, a month after Valentine's. On this day, a man will return a "love" token to the woman who gave him chocolates on Valentine's day. White Day is assuredly just the invention of chocolate makers, but its popularity shot up immediately as many women conception it was not fair to just give chocolates on Valentine's day and get nothing back. Originally, men would just give some sweets back to the sender, but gradually women started to expect to get more costly gifts in return. This was acceptable, since man's status is still higher than that of women in Japan and Japanese community still expects a man to take care of a woman.

Unfortunately, this new tradition also went to too far. A "popular" superior at the office now needed to cough up rather large whole of money to buy return gifts to the women in the office, rather than simply spending the same whole on his wife! Some clever women took benefit of the situation, and sent out large numbers of cheap chocolates to as many men as they could find, and then imaginable to get some more essential gifts in return. If she did not get anything from a positive man, then bad rumors, saying the guy was stingy, would be circulated in the office. No man needs that, as the prestige is very leading in Japanese society.

Although Valentine's Day is still huge and 20% of annual chocolate sales are made just for the one day, there is some feeling of discontent among the Japanese. According to one of some new studies, as both men and women mature, their antipathy toward Valentine's day increases. It is fun as high school kids, but then it becomes a obligatory social burden as they come to be a part of mainstream society. Although I do not think that Valentine's Day will disappear from Japanese society, since it has a huge commercial point as Christmas does for the Japanese (or, in that matter, for the Us) economy, I expect there will be supplementary evolution of Valentine's Day in Japan. Probably in 20 yrs., you may not even identify Japanese Valentine's Day as the same celebration as we have in the Western World.

Dressing Kids A-La Japanese Style

Japanese fashion is huge in any place in the world. This is probably because of the prominence of Japanese culture, spilling out even outside the land of the rising sun. It's not surprising that Japanese fashion has influenced kid's clothing here. What is surprising is how thorough the Japanese style is for children of all ages and sexes.

So how can you dress up your kid's Japanese style? Simple: use kid's clothing pieces that mirror the country's fashion sense and use Japanese fashion practices as applicable to kid's clothing.

Japanese School Girls

One of the base practices in the country is layering. Many citizen verily think that Japan is big on showing skin (perhaps due to the movies and cartoons they've seen from Japan). But this is plainly untrue-Japanese culture, in general, cultivates timid, prim and proper, and very formal people. Naturally, this is a view you'd want to use for kid's clothing.

For instance, get kid's clothing pieces such as jackets or vests and scarf to complement a Japanese-influence shirt (basically, any shirt with bold prints). This is thorough as a kid's clothing ensemble while fall, when the weather is cold adequate to merit layered clothing but warm adequate not to certify a thick coat.

Layering can also be used for girl's kid's clothing, although parents should try to keep it down a notch when it comes to accessories. Japanese girls can big on accessories. But if you're trying to layer, especially for kid's clothing for girls, you want emphasize specific Japanese or Japanese-inspired pieces rather than bury it surrounded by numerous layers of clothing.

A good example: for girl's kid's clothing, dress your kid in an oversized sleeveless plain top underneath a sleeveless dress to generate a easy layering ensue that's both cute and elegant. Top it off with a hat and a easy necklace.

Another surprising trend: Japanese style has a lot of formless clothes. A amount of the dresses for Japanese girls today are oversized-barring the creative prints, they can look like sleeping dresses. This is a look that wouldn't be a hit for youthful girls. For toddlers and pre-teens, however, this Japanese trend is excellent for kid's clothing, especially if you're veering away from the overly sexualized fashion choices ready today.

Floral prints are also big in Japanese fashion. This, of course, is great for girl's kid's clothing. Dresses with leading floral prints are girly adequate for girls of all ages. And since floral prints are universal, you do not run the risk of dressing up your kid too differently. Floral dresses are excellent if you're going for something easy and not too busy (layering can produce that "too much going on" effect). Lolita- and Victorian-inspired dresses are nice too, as they work quite nicely as cute girl's kid's clothing.
The key to achieving the excellent Japanese style kid's clothing is choice.

The current trends in Japanese street fashion today verily mirror some of the styles that are current and chic in America. For instance, Japanese boys also use fitted jeans, a piece of clothing that's trendy here. With kid's clothing, you can afford to be a little off from the current trends in Japanese style. Be a little creative with the prints you use and the footwear you buy. You can also compensate by using bold accessories. Use big bows as hair accessories for girls, for example.

Dating gorgeous Asian Women - How to effect With Japanese Girls

If you're curious in dating beautiful Asian women, join the club. But one thing you need to first understand is that there are dozens of distinct Asian ethnic groups -- Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean Girls and Thai, just to name a few. And there are some subtle (but important!) differences in the middle of these distinct types of Asian women.

Knowing these differences can mean the divergence in the middle of blowing your chance, and landing the beautiful Asian woman of your dreams!

Japanese School Girls

In this report I want to focus on Japanese women. The "stereotypical" Japanese woman is soft-spoken, timid and subservient. Her main priority is serving and pleasing her man.

That's the stereotype. Now let's talk about how Japanese girls categorically are. The "soft spoken" part may be true when you're in public with her. It's not in a Japanese woman's nature to confront or consider with you in front of others. They would find this deeply embarrassing.

Behind done doors, however, you will categorically know it if your Japanese girlfriend is upset about something. So don't think for a occasion that Japanese women are weak and submissive. They can be very strong-willed.

However, they Do expect you, as the man, to be the decision-maker in the relationship. This is one of the fundamentals of dating Japanese women.

This attitude is distinct from what most Western guys have been conditioned to believe. They think they're being diplomatic by always deferring to women and request for their opinions on everything. "Are you free to hang out this weekend?" "What are you in the mood to eat tonight?" "What do you feel like doing?" Etc.

When you're dealing with Japanese women, you've got lay out the plan. This is what she expects of the man in her life. So, when request a Japanese girl out, be specific about the plans: the day of the week, the time, and the place where you want to bring her.

When the midpoint guy tries to ask a girl out, it ordinarily sounds something like this...

"If you're not busy this weekend, maybe we could, um, hang out and do something..."

This will ordinarily backfire with Japanese women. They are practical people. They want data that they can base their decision on. By trying to ask her out in that vague manner, all you're doing is confusing her. Are you suggesting that you want to meet her on Saturday, or Sunday? In the daytime or in the evening? Where do you want to take her? How should she prepare and should she dress casually, or formally?

By request her out in a vague, wishy-washy manner, you're only going to confuse her and turn her off.

(It's also foremost for to "be the leader" when it's time to seduce her! She won't make the first move. But if you've gotten her attracted to you, when you do make the first move you may be pleasantly surprised at how eager she is for sex.)

Another tip: Being on time is very foremost to Japanese women. Japan must be the most organized, productive society in the world. When you walk around Japan, you will see how obsessed they are with punctuality. Train and bus departure times, Tv show listings, and other events are scheduled right down to the exact minute. When you ask a Japanese man for the time, they won't round off the number and say "seven-thirty" -- they'll tell you it's 7:27. And in Japan, if you arrive even one petite late for work, you'll need to fill out a "Late Form" that gets submitted to the boss.

So, there is no such thing as "fashionably late" in their culture. It's not like in America, where women think nothing of showing up to meet you 15 or 20 minutes late. Arrive late to a date with a Japanese girl, and she'll think that you don't care about her and don't respect her.

A few other things to know about Japanese girls:

Japanese society is based on conformity.

A beloved expression in Japan is, "The nail that sticks up gets hammered down." In other words, citizen who don't conform to the "correct" standards of society -- whether it's the way they dress, the grades they get at school, or how they achieve at work -- will face a lot of pressure and public difficulties. Sure, Japan has its share of rebels, but the vast majority of the citizen spend their lives doing what they can to fit in and go with the status quo.

When students in Japan enter junior high school (or even elementary school), they are required to wear their school's uniform. Coloring your hair is forbidden, as is wearing earrings, jewelry and makeup. These rules loosen up when a young man enters college. This is their time to be free and "find themselves." But once they graduate college and enter the work force, the need to conform is stronger than ever.

And so, when you're interacting with a Japanese woman, don't ever make fun of the "conformist" nature of her society, or try to convince her to "go against the grain" and do what she wants with her life, regardless of what her friends and house might think. This won't score you any points. Although you might think Japan is a society of like-minded robots, afraid to think for themselves, it's also the speculate why it is such a very industrialized country with a high level of public harmony.

Unlike in the Western world, you don't see a lot of anxious, depressed citizen in Japan. By going along with the flow and doing what is unbelievable of them, Japanese citizen feel a sense of purpose and contentment.

Japanese women are commonly seeing to get married and play the "wife" role.

In Japan, women don't start seriously dating (or sleeping with distinct guys) until college. Due to the accurate nature of Japanese parents, they plainly don't get the chance to. Once they're in college, however, a lot of girls enter into a duration of liberation and experimentation. (You can have a lot of fun with Japanese college girls, if you have passage to them.)

Once they graduate from college and enter the workplace, the outlook of most Japanese women is that they will work until they get married. Then, they will decree into their domestic duties-managing the household and raising the kids. Most women will quit their jobs as soon as they find a husband, or after they come to be pregnant.

Although women have gained more proprietary over the years, the workplace in Japan is still very much a "man's world." Men commonly believe that women are powerful for basic desk work and not much else. There are few opportunities for women to expand in their careers, and if they were to climb the corporate ladder, the Japanese men in the business would feel threatened and not want to take orders from them.

For these reasons, even though there categorically are Japanese women who would like to have big-time careers, it's just not worth it for them to try to buck the system. Plus, they see the brutally long hours that the men have to work. A regular laborer is going to put in a 50 or 60-hour work week, easily, and that doesn't contain all of the "drinking meetings" they go to afterwards with their coworkers and boss.

As a Japanese man, you can't bow out of these after-work boozing sessions if you want to get ahead in the company. If a woman were to attend these sessions, she would probably be demeaned and harassed by her drunken male co-workers.

So the women figure, why bother with all that crap? They're seeing to land a good husband as soon as possible. After marriage, some women will work part-time jobs in fields that interest them. But trying to expand straight through the corporate ranks is incredibly difficult for them, if not impossible.

Japanese Women Have A "Ticking Clock"

In Japan, women are thought about "old" by the age of 30. It doesn't matter that modern medical technology enables women to have children well into their 40s. In Japanese society, there remains a very negative stigma for women who are in their 30s and still unmarried.

If you're seeing for a serious girlfriend or wife, the best age group to target are Japanese women in their late 20s. Chances are, they are hunting for a suitable man -- and they're going to judge you by your "marriage potential," rather than by your looks or anyone else.

Here is something else that is foremost to know: to Japanese women, marriage isn't necessarily about seeing "true love," or fulfilling your romantic destiny, or having the big, expensive fairy-tale wedding (which has come to be absurdly foremost for American women). It's more about two citizen who like each other deciding to make a commitment to each other and going straight through life together.

This doesn't sound as romantic as the Western ideal of marriage, where it's all about "true love" and "soul mates"-but then again, around 60% of marriages in the Western world fall apart. Lust doesn't last. Japanese citizen know this, and advent it in a more practical way.

For Japanese women in their late 20s, dating becomes a serious pursuit. They might ask you questions during a date that makes it feel like a job interview. Don't get freaked out by it. She's trying to decree whether you can financially withhold a house in the future; if you are loving and protective with your own family; and if you have the inherent to be a good husband and father.

If you're dating a Japanese Girls in this age range, she's sizing you up in terms of your husband/father potential-and if she's still hanging around with you after a few dates, it's because she thinks you have this potential. If she decides that you don't, she is likely to break off the association with no explanation.

Many women celebrate this day with the use of Furisode (a kimono with long sleeves that hang) and zori sandals. Since most are unable to put on a kimono by themselves due to the complexities complex in dressing in one, many select to visit a beauty salon to dress and have their hair done. A complete set of formal clothing is quite expensive, so it is usually taken from a relative or rented rather than bought for the occasion. Men sometimes wear primary costumes (for example a dark kimono with hakama), but in contemporary times many men wear formal western clothes, like a suit and a tie, more often than a primary dress.

The History Behind Kokeshi dolls

In the early nineteenth century within the northern villages of the Tohoku region, kokeshi dolls were man-made as toys for children, and they were produced from remaining bits of discarded wood. These early Japanese dolls were created by craftsmen who made their living by manufacture other forms of woodcraft, but at some point they began creating kokeshi dolls to be marketed as souvenirs. There were many local hot spring resorts in the area, so it was a good firm to sell these dolls to the visitors; it is a Japanese tradition to take back home an omiyage (a gift that is brought back home when a person travels). Over the years, this art has been enhanced and a wide collection of technical and artistic variations appeared. Today, there are many schools of kokeshi designs guided by devotee craftsmen who pass their inheritance to other house members, maintaining this tradition throughout the generations.

Kokeshi Doll Types

Regardless of their tasteless characteristics, kokeshi dolls are separated into two proper types: primary kokeshi and creative kokeshi

Traditional Kokeshi

Traditional kokeshi dolls were initially man-made by Kijiya artisans in the Tohoku region. They were known as "dento" dolls and they had slim and long bodies without arms or legs, and wider rounded heads. Initially, these Japanese dolls took a very easy shape with long cylindrical bodies painted with a little collection of colors.

Modern Kokeshi

Shingata or creative kokeshi, is a more contemporary doll style which gives flexibility to the artist to shape the doll as he chooses; they can possess any style or color. A creative doll is generally a unique piece, and it might be more precious compared to other type of dolls due to its originality. The craftsmen who furnish the creative kokeshi dolls are not from a particular region of Japan, and typically they are settled in the cities.
